GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE

(Medical report prepared by Tim Cochran for Dr. Pravin Kini and our Medical Staff in India, April 30, 1997)

  1. Provides one of the basic building blocks of healthy Cartilage, Ligaments and Tendons.
  2. Provides lubricating and cushioning support to help maintain healthy, flexible joints.
  3. Helps maintain levels of Synovial Fluid in the Joints and Vertebrae.
  4. Helps and assists in the reduction of pain and swelling in Autoimmune and Arthritis patients.
  5. Increases the mobility of tendons and ligaments in Autoimmune and Arthritis patients.

Glucosamine Sulfate is a highly concentrate amino sugar which is naturally formed in the joint structures. As we age our body’s ability to produce this essential item drops and degeneration sets in. It is this amino sugar that is necessary to stimulate on a cellular language basis to command the repair of the cartilage inside the body’s joints. When you age there is less and less of this product available inside your body and therefore the urgently needed repairs just doesn’t happen as they did during the earlier stages of one’s life. It is one of the main or major biological chemicals that forms all the major cushioning ingredients of the joint fluids and surrounding connective tissue. The Glucosamine Sulfate molecules are 250 times smaller than the Chondroitin Sulfate molecule, so they are more easily absorbed through the intestinal tract then Chondroitin Sulfate. But with Piperine added with Chondroitin, we see the absorption rate increase. We strongly advise that Chondroitin Sulfate, Piperine & Glucosamine Sulfate should be taken together as a group effort.

Some think that because one molecular group is much smaller than the other group that it is more bio-available. I would strongly disagree with this, cause if you study the size and length of all of the different enzymes (let us use vitamins as an example) they come in all different shapes and sizes. And they are all needed and used in different ways by your liver in enhancing all of your body’s many different systems. "C" & "E" are not any where close to each other in molecular sizing, but no one in their right mind would tell you that was one better then the other or to use only one and then drop the other. This is the situation we see with Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate. They should be both used in the fight against Autoimmune Disease and Arthritis. We are using them together and with very good success.

As the body ages, it loses it ability to produce the required building blocks for Cartilage rebuilding and repair. Thus tissues in and around the joints lose their elasticity because the tissue are being starved of the needed maintenance materials, needed to carry on normal cartilage tissue repair work. The bodily production of these items are no longer able to produce them in the quantities need to do the job. They (the joints) become prone to damage (because of limited or no maintenance or repair being done) when these lubricating fluids in the joints become thin and watery. Healthy cushioning is totally lost over time, then the bone and cartilage just scrape against each other, within the joint space. This results in cartilage erosion and degeneration, which will cause the inhibiting factor of inflexibility and reduced joint movement.

Glucosamine does help maintain the normal and proper levels of Synovial Fluid in the joints and in between the vertebrae. These molecules are easily absorbed and distributed into the actual Cartilage Matrix. Some clinical and in-vitro studies, along with our own medical trial testing, have clearly demonstrated that Glucosamine Sulfate does help rebuild cartilage and will reduce joint pain, greatly reduce swelling and greatly increase the motion of the joint(s). We have seen with our patient’s significant reductions with the joint pain and swelling, as well as real improvements in joint function and mobility after taking Glucosamine Sulfate.
