LECITHIN

Promotes Cardiovascular Health and Nutritionally Supports Mental and Memory Function.

  1. Enhances the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins in the small intestines.
  2. Aids in the transportation and metabolism of fats.
  3. Helps prevent Cholesterol and other Fats from accumulating on the Artery Walls.
  4. Enriches Nerve function and protects Neurological Functions.

Lecithin is a natural source of Choline, which is one of the substances required for transmission of information for certain nerve cells to other cells. Each 19 grams of Lecithin provides approximately 27 mg Choline. Lecithin is essential to each and every cell in the body. It has a protective, conditioning effect on the cell membrane, which is largely composed of Lecithin, keeping the membrane from hardening and preventing damage that is caused by oxidation. The fatty protective sheaths that surround the nerves in the brain and muscle cells all contain large amounts of Lecithin.

Lecithin provides the body with a very bio-available form of Choline knows as Phosphatidylcholine. The body normally produces this Choline in the liver, BUT NATURAL LEVELS DECREASE AS WE AGE! Therefore, to return the chemical levels in your body back to your physical prime of 22 years old, making supplementation not only important, but also mandatory.

Choline in Lecithin nutritionally supports Cardiovascular Health by acting as a Lipotropic and ensures the proper transport and metabolism of Fats! Choline's prime function is to prevent abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat in the Liver.

Choline is needed to make Acetlcholine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Adequate amounts of acetylcholine are critical for optimum nerve activity, as well as for normal mental and memory functions. Lecithin is also high in Phosphorus, and combines with Iron, Iodine and Calcium to enhance the support of the brain functions.

Lecithin also helps in the absorption and utilization of fat-soluble Vitamins A, D, E, and K, in the small intestines as well as Thiamine in the Liver. Lecithin is widely used as a food additive, as it is found in Ice Cream, mayonnaise and margarine. It also serves as the emulsifier that connects water to the fats in these products, which helps maintain their consistency. One of the most important dietary supplements, Lecithin is getting a resurgence of attention because of the accumulation of very strong evidence on its ability to support healthy nerve and brain function, as well as enhance and greatly assists Cardiovascular health and over all well being.

UP-DATE: March 17, 1997

Acetylcholine is secreted at the nerve junction which helps transport messages across the nerve junction, so that proper nervous system function can happen. It is a well-known member of the neurotransmitter group or family. The main organs that have daily need or use Choline are the Brain, The Kidneys, The Liver and the Spleen. Choline also functions as a member of the Lipotropic vitamin family involved in methyl donation for conversion to another member of this Lipotropic family, BETAINE.

The therapeutic usefulness of Lecithin and Choline is to a great extent related to their readiness to be converted to Acetylcholine.
